Deps NZ Crawler Jr 90 mm 1 oz Floating Lure 09

90mm | 1 oz | Floating | Crawler / Wakebait

This is a surface crawler/wakebait built around slow disturbance rather than fast splashing.

The crawling action is meant to push water across the surface and create a struggling prey signal that predators can track even when visibility is not perfect.

Fish it slowly enough that the wings or crawling action work properly.

Around calm pockets, shade, reed edges, timber, or night fishing zones, slower is usually better.

In wind or broken surface water, a slightly firmer retrieve helps keep the lure audible and visible.

Because it is floating, it stays in the strike zone and can be paused beside cover.

That pause is useful after a fish boils behind it, because many strikes come when the lure stops looking like it is escaping too quickly.

The finish should be chosen by matching it to the water rather than assuming one colour works everywhere.

Use subtle natural colours in clear water, brighter or higher-contrast colours in dirty water, and darker silhouettes when fish are tracking shape more than detail.

Its limitation is speed.

This is not the lure for quickly searching a huge flat when fish are scattered.

It is better when you already know the fish are using shallow cover or when you want a slow topwater that stays noisy and obvious.

TARGET SPECIES: largemouth bass, peacock bass, snakehead, barramundi, trevally, queenfish, bluefish, and other predators that are willing to hit near the surface.
