The Popkey 100 Pencil Floating Lure is a floating pencil for covering water with a controlled walk-the-dog action.
It gives more presence than small finesse pencils while still letting you slow down and work a fish that follows.
Work it with short downward rod taps and enough slack to let the lure swing side to side.
Speed it up when fish are chasing, slow it down when they follow, and use pauses because many surface strikes come just after the lure stops.
It is strongest over flats, along breakwalls, around bait schools, river mouths, reef edges, and low-light feeding lanes.
It is not the right pick when fish are glued to bottom or the water is too dirty for them to track the surface.
