The Riser Bait 008 80mm is a topwater-oriented sinking bait made to rise and skip across the surface on the retrieve.

That design choice matters because it gives you a compact lure that casts well but still creates a surface-feeding signal once moving.

Start the retrieve quickly to bring it up, then control it with rod angle and speed.

It can be burned over active fish, skipped across nervous bait, or slowed slightly around small boils and current seams to look like a baitfish trying to escape.

It is strongest when predators are feeding high, pushing small bait, or reacting to commotion near the surface.

It is not the best lure when fish are holding deep and refusing to rise.

The brighter or flashier finish is useful when the water has stain, the light is low, or the lure needs to stand out around current, cover, or surface disturbance.

In very clear calm water, slow the retrieve down or switch to a more natural finish if fish are only following.
