It is useful when predators are hunting upward and you want more presence than a quiet finesse minnow.
Fish it with a slow steady wake when the water is calm, then add pauses or short twitches near cover.
When fish follow but do not hit, slowing down and leaving the lure in place longer often works better than speeding it up.
