Letting it float up slightly can clear snags and also make the lure look like prey that has just lost momentum.
It is strongest around rock, timber, weed edges, banks, ledges, and structure where the lure can touch something.
It is less useful when fish are suspended far from cover or feeding right on top.
This brighter or higher-contrast finish is useful when visibility matters more than perfect realism: stained water, low light, broken surface, or fish reacting to a clear target.
