The Rapala Floater Elite is a classic floating minnow style for shallow to upper-water baitfish work.
The floating body lets you pause around shallow cover, work over weed or rock, and keep the lure high when fish are feeding near the surface.
Use a steady retrieve when fish are active, or twitch and pause it beside cover when fish are following.
The pause is important: a floating minnow that stops and rises slightly often looks easier to catch than one constantly escaping.
It is strongest in streams, lakes, estuaries, shallow flats, weed edges, and current breaks where predators are looking upward.
It is not the tool for fish pinned deep on bottom.
TARGET SPECIES: trout, perch, bass, sea bass, chub, flatfish, bream, and predators feeding on small to mid-sized baitfish around edges and current.
